Ozzy Osbourne airport petition close to 70k signatures
Calls are still being made to rename Birmingham Airport after the rock legend.
A petition to see Birmingham Airport renamed after Ozzy Osbourne is close to hitting the 70,000 mark.
It was started after the rock legend passed away last month aged 76.
Dan Hudson is behind the petition, he said: "The next steps are to get a big co-sign from the likes of Metallica or Iron Maiden or even Aston Villa. Something like that could make a huge difference, but I'm in no hurry.
"This is for Ozzy's legacy in his home city."
A Birmingham Airport spokesperson said: “Ozzy Osborne is an inspiration to so many in our region proving that talent, hard work, and commitment can take you to all corners of the world.
"In coming weeks, we will be looking at how we can celebrate his heritage and contribution to the region via terminal artwork, creating a greater sense of place for Birmingham and his fans.”
Since the statement, the airport have confirmed a mural will be done for Ozzy at the site.
