Man charged with murder of Birmingham teen after two year manhunt

A man's been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old killed in Birmingham, following a two-and-a-half year manhunt.

16-year-old Sekou Doucoure was found seriously injured on July 12th 2022. Paramedics said nothing more could be done to save him.

Since then, an investigation has been underway, looking for 33-year-old Ishmael Farquharson.

Faruqharson of Porchester Drive, Birmingham appeared on Crime Watch where a Crimestoppers reward was offered.

He was arrested yesterday (March 5th) in Spain by colleagues from the National Crime Agency.

Faruqharson has been charged with the of murder 16-year-old Sekou Doucoure. He has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The 33-year-old was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (March 6th).
