A 15-year-old boy is due in court today after another teenager was stabbed at a shopping centre in Dudley.

A 17-year-old boy was cut on his back during the attack at Merry Hill in Brierley Hill on Friday 28 November. His injuries aren't thought to be serious.

The 15-year-old - who can't be named for legal reasons - was soon arrested and charged with assault and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at Merry Hill, said: "Merry Hill has been supporting West Midlands Police in its investigation of the incident that took place last month.

“We are working together to ensure that the centre continues to be a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, with enhanced police presence on site throughout the busy festive period.”

Three other teenagers - aged 16, 18, and 19 - were arrested on suspicion of affray and wounding. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
