Man and woman charged with murder of man in Tamworth

A man and a woman have been charged with the murder of a man in Tamworth in 2022.

Kenneth Newton, 57, and Melanie James, 63, both from Birmingham, have been have been charged with murder, manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable adult.

Staffordshire Police were reported to concerns of the welfare for a man on 27 November 2022 at around 1:27pm.

Rubin Blount, aged 28 at the time and who is the step brother of Kenneth, was taken to hospital. He died three days later.

Newton and James will appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (20 November).
