A man from Aston has been jailed for more than 11 years after deliberately running people over outside a Birmingham nightclub.
Mohammed Suffi, who is 22 and of Hampton Road, had been involved in a dispute that saw a group of men thrown out of the Tunnel Club last October.
Further violence then erupted outside the venue.
Suffi got behind the wheel of a Mercedes SUV in Water Street, and sped towards clubbers in the street.
Some were hit, although none of the crowd was seriously injured at that point.
He then ran over a man his friend had been fighting with, causing the victim multiple fractures and life-changing injuries.
The car was found the next day in Oldbury, but Suffi fled the country before being arrested last June.
Suffi was found guilty last December at Birmingham Crown Court, of wounding - having earlier admitted affray and dangerous driving.
He was jailed for 11 years and six months, and was banned from driving for more than 10 years.
He will have to serve two thirds of his sentence before he can be considered for release.
Det Insp Michelle Cordell, from West Midlands Police's Major Crime Unit, said: “This was appalling violence.
"The use of a car as a weapon could easily have resulted in people being killed.
"It is by pure luck that they weren’t."
