A 76-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a taxi driver in the West Midlands in 2008.

David Harrison, from Bilston, was charged on Monday in connection with the death of 39-year-old Harun Khan on March 3 2008, West Midlands Police said.

Father of four Mr Khan was shot outside his home in Tudor Street in Tipton at 9.25pm and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Harrison is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on January 6 next year accused of the fatal shooting.

He is also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a shooting of a 27-year-old man on December 14 2007 in Farthings Lane, Dudley, and two counts of possessing a firearm.
