Man charged with GBH after police officer assaulted in Birmingham
It happened on Saturday morning
A man’s been charged with grievous bodily harm after an officer was seriously injured as she tried to arrest a man in Birmingham.
John Davies, aged 57, is accused of wounding with intent after the officer was injured just before 9.30am on Saturday (5 July).
It happened when she and colleagues had been called to deal with a disturbance at a property on Talbot Street, Hockley.
Davies has also been charged with wounding with intent of a member of the public during the same incident.
He is also charged with assaulting another officer, who was punched during the disorder.
He was appearing before city magistrates today.
All of those injured are now recovering.
