Abdulwasi Ahmadi faces court appearance following Centenary Square incident
A man has been charged in relation to a stabbing incident in Birmingham city centre, which occurred on Thursday, 11th June.
The police were called to Centenary Square shortly after 2:30 pm where two men in their 20s had been found injured.
One man sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised; his condition is now stable.
The other suffered minor injuries to his hand.
Abdulwasi Ahmadi, aged 22, has been charged with wounding with intent and causing actual bodily harm.
He is remanded into custody and is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 15th June 2026.
A second man, aged 21, has been bailed pending further enquiries related to the investigation.
Local officers remain in the area to provide reassurance, encouraging residents to approach them with any concerns.
The police are seeking footage or information pertaining to the incident.
