Man arrested on suspicion of murder near Perry Barr train station

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of another man who was attacked near Perry Barr train station on Thursday night.

Police were called to Birchfield Road by paramedics at around 9.50pm after 76 year old Alvin Callum, was found in a serious condition.

A man aged 30 in the Perry Barr area was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody.
