Large fire breaks out at Wolverhampton factory

Fire crews are responding to a large fire, at a factory on Sunbeam Street, near Upper Villiers Street, in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton.

Shortly after 7:30am on Wednesday, 14th January, the fire service were called to reports on a fire in a factory building.

Initially eight fire engines were deployed and crews attended in under three minutes.

At one point 21 fire engines, two 4×4 brigade response vehicles and three hydraulic aerial platforms were at the scene.

Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, are tackling the blaze using hose reel jets.

This is an active incident and nearby residents and workers are advised to close their doors and windows as a precaution.

14 relief crews were at the scene overnight.

Crews still remain at the scene a day later.

There are no reported injuries or casualties.
