Man in court charged with murder following house fire in Birmingham

A man is due in court today charged with murder following a house fire in Birmingham.

Daniel Gardner, 37, died following the blaze at a property on Saxons Way, Highters Heath at around 1:10am on Friday (19 Sept). He was taken to hospital but medics were unable to save him.

Stephen Dale, 47, has been charged with murder and is due before magistrates today.

West Midlands Police said: "Our investigation continues and we’d ask anyone with information or footage which could help our investigation to call us on 101, quoting log 174 of 19 September.
