A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Great Barr.

The victim - a man in his 20s - is in a critical condition in hospital following the attack on Middlemist Grove in the early hours of Saturday morning (30 Aug).

Reiaz Brown, 19 and from Oldbury, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (1 Sept).

An 18-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and another man, 20, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have both been bailed pending further enquiries.

West Midlands Police said: "We are continuing to appeal for information about the incident, and ask anyone who not yet got in touch with us to call 101 quoting log 335 of 30 August.
