Four teenagers arrested after shots fired in Great Barr
Police made the arrests in Broome Avenue yesterday evening
Four teenagers have been arrested, and a firearm has been recovered after shots were fired in Great Barr.
Police were called to Broome Avenue just after 4.45pm, having received several calls reporting a shooting.
Firearms officers arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17 at the scene, while a firearm was recovered from a bag discarded in a nearby alleyway.
Shortly after, a further two 17-year-old boys were also arrested at the scene.
The teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remain in custody for questioning.
The recovered firearm has since been examined and has been confirmed as not live and viable. No one is believed to have been injured.
Officers are increasing their patrols in the area to offer reassurance.
