Four people in hospital after fire in Birmingham flat
Four people have been sent to hospital after a fire in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Four people are being treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in a four-storey building predominately made up of flats.
It started in a bedroom in one of the flats on Islington Row Middleway in Edgbaston at around 5:15am today (14 Jan). Fire crews rescued one person from the stairwell, with three men and a woman being sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Officers conducted a full search of the neighbouring flats to ensure there was no further spread of fire or more casualties.
The fire has since been extinguished and left with West Midlands Police.
