Police have arrested five teenagers after a man was assaulted in Coventry city centre.

The man, in his 20s, is recovering from his injuries following the attack in January.

Last Friday (20 February), officers arrested three teenage boys in Corporation Street and Hale Street in the city centre and yesterday (25 February) a further boy and girl were arrested at separate locations in the city on suspicion of assault.

A 16-year-old has been charged with wounding and further charged with robbery following a separate incident in Burgess.

He appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (23 February) and is due back before the court on 30 April.

Two others, both aged 16, have been charged with theft and one has also been charged with criminal damage, following separate incidents in the city centre. Both have been released on police bail to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court on 12 March.

A 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy have both been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
