Five men wanted over fatal Birmingham shooting

Four years on from a fatal shooting in Birmingham, Police are now naming five men they'd like to speak to as part of their ongoing investigation.

Mohammed Kasim, known as Kasim, had just turned 30 and was in a car on Eversley Road just after midnight on 7 July 2022 when he was shot.

He, and a second man - who also shot - made their way to hospital but tragically Kasim died. His friend has since recovered.

Police have been investigating since it happened, carrying out a range of complex enquiries.

Today, they are appealing for help in finding five men who we would like to speak to as part of that investigation:

Mahir Omar, aged 26

Musdaf Ahmed, aged 28

Mohammed Diriye, aged 26

Muscab Ibrahim, aged 26

Mahamad Ibrahim, aged 27

All five are known to have links to Birmingham.

Senior Investigating Officer, Det Insp Nigel Box, said: "This is very much an active investigation, and we are still asking anyone who may have any information at all to get in touch with us.

“No matter how small it may seem, and regardless of the time passed, it could be vital.

"Likewise, if anyone can help us locate any of these five men, they should speak to us, or the independent charity Crimestoppers.

"Our thoughts remain with Kasim's family, we are supporting them and keeping up to date, and we remain focussed on doing all we can to bring Kasim's killer to justice."

Kasim's family previously spoke of their loss, saying:

“Kasim had a big heart, he was full of love, his smile was so contagious, he lit up any room he went into.

“No parent should have to bury their child.”
