Aston Villa will face Lille in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have been drawn against Midtjylland.

Villa, who finished second behind Lyon in the competition's league phase, will play the first leg in France, while Forest will travel to Denmark for the second leg.

Unai Emery's side, currently third in the Premier League, won seven and lost one of their eight group matches.

Forest, just two points above the relegation zone in the top flight, finished 13th in the league phase and sealed their place in the last 16 by beating Fenerbahce 4-2 on aggregate in their knockout play-off.

Midtjylland won 3-2 against Forest, then managed by Ange Postecoglou, when the two sides met in the league phase at the City Ground in October.

The draw, which took place at UEFA's Nyon headquarters on Friday, saw Bologna paired with Roma in an all-Italian tie, while league-phase winners Lyon will play Celta Vigo.

There will be a first-ever clash between Panathinaikos and Real Betis, Stuttgart face Porto, Ferencvaros take on Braga and Belgian side Genk will play Freiburg.

The seeded teams, who finished in the top eight of the league phase, were all drawn against one of the eight play-off winners and will have the advantage of playing the second legs at home.

The first legs will be played on March 12, with the second legs scheduled for March 19.

Should Villa beat Lille they would face either Roma or Bologna in the quarter-finals and if Forest overcome Midtjylland, they would play Stuttgart or Porto.

Besiktas Park in Istanbul will host the final on May 20.
