Applications open to volunteer at Coventry's Godiva music festival
A number of well-known names will be performing at the festival
Coventry City Council has opened applications to help volunteer at the city's Godiva music festival.
Featuring a host of big names including Clean Bandit, Heather Small and Marc Almond, the three-day festival will come to the city's War Memorial Park from July 4th to 6th.
With one month to go until the shows get underway, the council is reaching out to local residents to help volunteer to make the festival one of the most anticipated music events in the city.
A number of different roles are available, including welcoming supporters, helping street performers and other activities including taking on arts and crafts activities.
Volunteers will get to benefit thanks to VIP parking at the festival, as well as access to the festival itself.
Speaking on the initiative, Councillor Abdul Salam Khan from Coventry City Council said: "This is a great opportunity for residents to get involved in the flagship summer festival in Coventry.
"There are lots of exciting volunteering roles from “meeting and greeting” festival goers as they arrive to supporting performers, all the while promoting Coventry as the welcoming city it is.
“It has been shown that volunteering is great for health and social wellbeing and with the incentives including free access to the festival, this is a lovely opportunity to be part of something really special.”
Pete, who also worked at the Godiva Festival in 2024, added that being a volunteer helped him to feel pride in working to promote the city.
"It is great to welcome all the visitors as well as help and support across lots of activities for all the family. I enjoy being able to make a difference!"
