A 16-year-old has been charged following a stabbing in Bordesley Green which left another teenager with serious injuries.
The incident happened at around 3.30pm on Pretoria Road on Saturday (15th Feb).
A 16-year-old was stabbed and taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old was arrested yesterday (17th Feb) and has now been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and attempted robbery.
He has been remanded into custody to appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court today (18th Feb).
Meanwhile, Police looked into claims of disorder at two Birmingham hospitals, which were believed to be linked to the incident.
But they have now updated the public to say these reports, in which it was claimed ambulances were being raided and unable to drop off patients, were false.
West Midlands Police said on their website: "False claims are being made on social media and repeated in the community.
"We have spoken to officers who attended the hospital with the victim, along with hospital staff on duty at the time as well as ambulance officials. All have confirmed that these rumours are untrue, unhelpful, and damaging to the caring service they provide."
