Two men have been charged after a teenage girl was forced into a car in Birmingham.

Two men have been charged with kidnap after a teenage girl was forced into a car in Birmingham.

It happened on Ladypool Road at around 4pm on Saturday (11 Oct). She managed to escape when people nearby stopped the car from driven away.

Mohammed Ali, 49, and his son, Luqman Ali, 20, were arrested at the scene.

Mohammed Ali is also accused of false imprisonment and assault.

The teenage girl is now being supported by specialist officers.

West Midlands Police said: "We are aware of misinformation circulating about the incident, and so we are confirming that the suspects and victim are of British Asian heritage.

"Our investigation continues and anyone with information, mobile phone or dash cam footage, has been asked to get in touch via 101, quoting 20/406171/25."
