Boy arrested in connection with Solihull stabbing

A boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in Solihull on Sunday (31 Aug).

Officers were called to Meriden Park at around 5.40pm after reports of a group of youths fighting.

A 14-year-old boy was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital. He remains in hospital, but thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested earlier today on suspicion of wounding.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Inspector Mark Heard, from Solihull Police, said: "We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area to come forward with any information they may have.

"We know that there was a lot of people around at the time, and so, if they saw anything that might help our investigation, please can they get in touch with us.

"Our officers remain in the area carrying out reassurance patrols. If you have any concerns, please do speak to them.”
