A teenager has been sentenced for stabbing a 17-year-old at a college in Birmingham.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening, after the attack on Summers Row on Wednesday 10th September 2025.

A boy, also 17-years-old, was arrested and pleaded guilty to wounding with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon.

He cannot be named because of his age.

The 17-year-old has been sentenced to two years and ten months in a Young Offender Institution.

Inspector Michael Wright, from the Birmingham Organised Crime and Gangs Team, said: “We work hard with young people in Birmingham and across the West Midlands to educate them on the dangers of carrying a weapon – and sadly this is a clear reminder of the consequences it can have.

“The boy that was hurt could easily have been more seriously injured, and I am pleased that our investigation has led to the offender being sentenced for his actions.”
