Birmingham City seal promotion back to Championship

Birmingham City have sealed promotion back to the Championship.

It follows their win over Peterborough to clinch a return to the second-tier of the football league.

The Blues were everyone's favourites to go up when the 2024-25 League One season began eight months ago.

Ahead of the Peterborough clash, they needed just one more victory from their seven remaining matches to ensure return to the Championship.

In addition, Chris Davies and his side could also break the League One points record, which currently stands at 103 and the EFL points record of 106.

There were scenes of celebration after their win at Peterborough as the Blues complete one of the earliest promotion triumphs with six games to spare.
