Appeal for witnesses after teenage girl sexually assaulted on train

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward, after a 13 year-old girl was sexually assaulted, on a train from Coventry to Wolverhampton.

At around 9pm on Sunday 24 May, she was sat on the train, when a man sat next to her at the table.

He then sexually assaulted her in Coach U and again in the on-train toilet.

The train was the 8.09pm service from London Euston to Wolverhampton and it left Coventry at 9.15pm, before arriving in Wolverhampton at 10.06pm.

A man, in his 30s, was arrested on 28 May, on suspicion of Sexual Assault by Penetration and has been bailed, with stringent conditions.

Detectives are urgently appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and help the investigation.
