21 people - aged between 14 and 25 - have been arrested from Dale End and Staniforth Street after members of the public and police officers were attacked with fireworks in Birmingham.
It follows disorder last night (5 Nov).
They remain in custody, being questioned on a number of offences, including violence disorder, assaulting a police officer, breach of the peace, and firing fireworks in a public place.
Inspector Matthew Minton said: "We made 21 arrests overnight as violent disorder broke out where members of the public and our officers were attacked with fireworks.
"Fortunately, no-one has been seriously hurt. We also seized weapons and fireworks as we deployed our Section 60 powers to stop and search.
"Behaviour like what we have seen overnight will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be held accountable."
The Section 60 powers - which allow police officers to stop and search people without needing to show a reason - came to an end at 6am today (6 Nov).
