18 year old dead and 14 year old injured after bike and pole collision in Wolverhampton

An 18 year old has died after a crash involving a bike and a pole in Wolverhampton.
Police say it happened in Bilston High Street soon after 9:30 last night.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries - which he died from - while a 14 year old boy was also hurt. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
Released in a statement West Midlands Police said:
"A bike hit a pelican crossing pole at just before 9.40pm.
"An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and sadly later died. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time.
"A 14-year-old boy was also involved and sustained injuries which are not believed to be serious."
As officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the full circumstances of the collision, they've appealed for any witnesses to come forward, and for any information on where the bike involved has gone to be shared with them - stating:
"The bike was no longer present at the scene when officers arrived and we’re keen to establish where it is."
