Five youths face charges following disturbances at Southbourne Beach

Five teenagers are due to appear in court after police investigated reports of violence on Bournemouth's Southbourne Beach.

The disturbance took place on the evening of 17th April 2025, following a gathering of young people.

Police allege several individuals were assaulted, with one reportedly wielding a hammer.

Officers ensured the crowd dispersed without further violence that evening.

In collaboration with the Crown Prosecution Service, local police identified those allegedly involved by examining CCTV evidence.

A 17-year-old from Poole faces charges of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, while another 17-year-old from Poole is charged with affray and possession of a class B drug.

An 18-year-old man from Poole is charged with affray, alongside two 17-year-olds from Poole and Bournemouth.

The court appearance is scheduled for 3rd March 2026 at Poole Youth Court.

Chief Inspector Nick Lee commented on the matter, emphasizing the impact of public violence and the police's commitment to thorough investigations and community safety.
