At around 12.25am on Monday 15 December 2025 a collision occurred in Old Christchurch Road, near to the junction with Wootton Gardens involving a black BMW and a pedestrian.

He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury, of BCP CID, said: “We are carrying out detailed enquiries into the circumstances of this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“From our investigations so far, we understand there were a number of people in the vicinity, including members of the public who intervened and attempted to get the suspect out of his vehicle following the collision.
“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.”
