Firefighters tackle blaze at block of flats in Bournemouth
The fire service say the response is now being scaled back
Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in the roof of a block of flats in Bournemouth.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Alumhurst Road at around 12:02pm this afternoon (February 9th).
At the height of the incident nine crews were tackling the fire with help from an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier and a support unit.
The fire service say the response is now being scaled back to four crews and the aerial ladder platform.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
"We were called to Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth at 12.02pm this afternoon (9 February) for a fire in the roof space of a block of flats.
"At the height of the incident, we had crews on scene from Westbourne, Springbourne, Redhill Park, Poole (x2), Christchurch (x2), New Milton and Ringwood, together with the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne, a water carrier from Poole and a support unit from Hamworthy."
"We are now scaling back to four crews and the aerial ladder platform, to continue cutting away and damping down."
