A major cliff fall at Stonebarrow in Charmouth, has led to the closure of a coastal path.

Dorset Council said the collapse occurred last night and are waring people that rockfalls and landslips can happen at any time.

The Council added that it is working on a diversion route.

The Jurassic Coast, stretching 95 miles within Dorset and Devon, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its extraordinary rocks, fossils, and landforms.

Visitors are being advised to stay safe by observing warning signs, keeping to existing paths, and remaining away from cliff edges and bases.

The council said, tide times should also be noted when by the coast.
