Police in Northampton are appealing for witnesses following a violent incident in Kings Heath that left three people injured on Friday evening.

Officers were called to East Oval at approximately 8.35pm on June 5 after receiving reports that several people had been stabbed.

At the scene, police discovered two teenage males, aged 17 and 18, who had sustained knife injuries. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 20-year-old man is also believed to have suffered a minor injury during the incident, although he had left the area before officers arrived.

The 18-year-old victim remains in hospital, where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Detectives believe six individuals were involved in the attack. According to initial enquiries, five of the suspects were dressed in dark clothing and wore face coverings, while a sixth was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.

Investigators are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a small dark-coloured car leaving the area shortly after the incident, as one of the suspects is believed to have fled the scene in the vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Northamptonshire Police.

Detective Inspector Gary Collins from Northamptonshire Police, said: “I understand last night’s incident will cause a lot of concern in the local community and I want to reassure you we are working incredibly hard to find those involved and help bring them to justice.

“We want to hear from anyone who may have any information about this incident and the events leading up to it. I’m also appealing for anyone who has any doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage of what happened to contact us as a matter of urgency. Every piece of evidence is crucial in an investigation such as this.

“We know Kings Heath is a close-knit community, that was demonstrated last night by those people who assisted the victims at the scene and who spoke to our officers about what they’d witnessed.

“We will have members of the Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team in Kings Heath throughout the weekend, and I urge anyone who has information, or indeed concerns about what happened to please speak to those officers.”
