Notts County and Salford City will be searching for their moment of glory this season as all eyes are on Wembley later today.

While both teams had campaigns to be proud of, in the end only one will claim a place in League One.

Redemption for County?

For the oldest professional football club it has certainly been an interesting decade for the club, with two relegations, uncertainty over their future followed by the acquisition of the club by Danish brothers Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz which has brought stability a return to the EFL and potentially back to League One.

Martin Paterson's arrival off the back of the departure of Stuart Maynard was met with hope and after just missing out on automatic promotion, they will be hoping they can beat a team they have rarely been able to over the past encouters.

County will be backed by a large turnout and they will be hoping for more scenes like their previous play-off final when they defeated Chesterfield to gain promotion from the National League.

City in League One for the first time?

When Salford City announced in 2014 that the class of 92 had completed a takeover of the club, they went on a journey that few of their fans could have expected beforehand.

As someone who attended a number of their matches in the Northern Premier League, the ambition was high that they would soon be a Football League side.

They achieved this by defeated AFC Fylde, since then they have had a few near misses, their latest one being the draw against Crawley Town on the final day, a win would have meant automatic promotion, they know they have to go one better to be a League One side.
