A man has been jailed for over ten years after sexually assaulting a young girl.
51 year-old Asa Ord, originally denied any wrongdoing in his police interview, but he eventually pleaded guilty to three counts of adult sexual activity with a child during an appearance at Nottingham Crown Court in February.
He was jailed for a total of ten years and two months.
“Ord committed a series of appalling offences against a child, and I am pleased he is now behind bars where he can no longer pose a threat to young people.
“I’d like to praise the bravery of the victim in speaking to us, and I hope this sentence provides her with some comfort.
“We take reports of such matters very seriously, and I’d encourage victims of sexual assaults to please report it to us.
“We will listen to you, we will investigate, and we will do everything we can to get justice for you.”
