A 23-year-old man has been found guilty of sharing “extremely graphic” terrorist videos online, according to Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE).

Mohammad Malik, of Burnt Oak Terrace, Gillingham, Kent, was convicted following a four-week trial at Winchester Crown Court of two counts of disseminating a terrorist publication and two charges of expression of support for a proscribed organisation.

He was acquitted of a count of possession of a terrorist publication and a further charge of disseminating a terrorist publication.

The force raided his home on January 14 2025 and seized a phone, a computer and hard drives, swords, knives and a homemade Daesh flag.

Detective Chief Superintendent Claire Finlay, head of CTPSE said: “Malik shared a number of extremely graphic videos online including some content produced by the media wing of Daesh.

“The videos, some of which he edited himself, glorified the actions of proscribed terrorist groups and terrorist attacks.

“Some of the content he shared was anti-Semitic and some videos featured footage of executions and beheadings.

“These were shared with his followers online and could have encouraged or assisted others to become involved in acts of terrorism.

“The harm from such cases cannot be underestimated, particularly towards those vulnerable to radicalisation.

“Please stay vigilant when you are online and be alert to anyone around you whose behaviour may have changed or who may be getting drawn into viewing or sharing extreme content.”
