Man charged with attempted murder after 4 injured in Shaftesbury Avenue collision

A man's been charged with attempted murder after four pedestrians were injured in London's West End on Christmas Day.

30-year-old Anthony Gilheaney has been charged with four counts of attempted murder, causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Westminster magistrates court today.

Police say one person remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment in hospital.
