A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Oldbury.

The man was wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary at a home in Halesowen that took place at around 9am on Sunday.

During the burglary, entry was gained, and a vehicle was stolen.

Later, the man returned to the original address with a 'Rambo' knife.

Officers quickly located the vehicle on Churchbridge, Oldbury, and pursued it as it headed towards junction 2 of the M5.

The vehicle was driven on the wrong side of the junction 2 roundabout in an attempt to join the motorway.

Officers made tactical contact with the vehicle on the slip road, stopping it before it could enter the motorway network on the wrong side.

The man was arrested by firearms officers on suspicion of aggravated burglary, dangerous driving, and possession of a knife.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.

A 'Rambo-style' knife was recovered from the vehicle, and the slip road at junction 2 was briefly closed while the incident was managed.
