Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward
A four-year-old boy has died following a crash involving one vehicle in West Lothian.
Police received reports of an incident on Drumcross Road, between Limefield Road and Drumcross Farm, near Bathgate around 4:30pm on Friday 6 November. The child was a passenger in a black Range Rover. He was taken by ambulance to St John's Hospital in Livingston where he died a short time later.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
The road was closed while police carried out an investigation.
Sergeant Dave Waddell said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy who died at this extremely difficult time.
"Enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash, or has any information that may assist, to contact us if they have not already done so.
“I’d also ask drivers with dash-cams, who were in the area around the time, to review their footage for any images that could assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
