Woman injured after attack in Hartlepool
The victim was punched and had her head hit against a lamp post

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured during a serious assault in Hartlepool.
The 41-year-old woman was walking along Raby Square towards Chatham Gardens on Friday afternoon (16 May) when she was approached by a man.
He is then alleged to have punched her to the face multiple times, andhit her head against a lamp post.
She managed to get away and reach safety at a property nearby where the assault was reported to police, before being taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The man is described as approximately 30-years-old, black, 5'9" or 5'10" tall with short black hair and was wearing a dark blue and light blue jacket and dark blue or black bottoms.
PC Bide, from Hartlepool Police Station, said: “While we have various enquiries ongoing, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or has information that could assist the investigation.
“I would also like people to check their CCTV or dash cam footage and to get in touch if it could also help with our enquiries.
