Ukrainian refugee in Darlington says 'every day is hard' as war continues
We've been getting reaction from Snegana Pazin
A Ukrainian refugee in Darlington has been telling us every day is hard hearing about what is happening in her home country.
It comes as the US is pushing for Russia to turn a three-day pause in fighting next week into a 'permanent' ceasefire.
Snegana Pazin from Kyrvyi Rih, who goes by the name of 'Snow' here in the UK, said: "America is a really wonderful country. There's really kind people and they help Ukraine a lot and we're grateful for that, but I don't understand, for now, why Trump's not strong enough to stop the war in a good way.
"All European countries which are helping us are losing money and America's losing money but Ukraine is losing more. Ukraine's losing lives. Every day children are dying so for me every day is hard and I don't understand why Trump's not strong.
"I think Trump is playing on Putin's side, not Zelenskyy's side and not on Ukraine's side. I saw how all European countries, after they saw the situation, started to help us more and I'm grateful for that.
"Before Trump became President, America was our guarantor but now it's not true. I think he wants everything to be how Putin wants, not how Zelenskyy wants, not how Ukrainian people want, not how it should be.
"I really respect all European countries on our side and it's really, really giving us motivation to go on to be more strong and give us an opportunity to feel more confident in this situation that we're not alone."
The Kremlin is offering to start talks about a longer pause in fighting, but Kyiv says hostilities need to stop ahead of any talks.
