A man aged 20 and a boy who's 14 have been arrested by police at South Bank.

It follows an incident - described as violent disorder - where a group of children were threatened on Thursday.

Detective Chief Inspector Tom Sewell from Redcar CID, said:

“We are treating the incident last night as violent disorder due to the harm posed by the individuals involved. This kind of criminal behaviour will simply will not be accepted, not on our streets, and we will continue to take action to protect our communities from those who break the law.

“Although the bikes we have seized as part of our enquiries so far are not believed to be the bikes used in Thursday’s incident, nonetheless we will take them off the streets to prevent them being used in criminal activity and causing fear and harm in our communities.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with any information in relation to the incident on Thursday evening to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference SE26051697”.
