Two men arrested after tractor crashes into Middlesbrough home
Police investigate unusual vehicle activity after tractor incident
Two men have been arrested after a tractor was driven into a house in Middlesbrough.
The suspects, aged 27 and 34, are in police custody on suspicion of conspiracy to destroy or damage property, and theft of a motor vehicle.
The incident occurred at 1.35am on Saturday, 9th May, in Priory Road, Whinney Banks, where a cordon remains in place.
The tractor and baler were stolen from farmer Ian Tate at Crossfield Farm, Crathorne, on Friday night before being driven into the residence early Saturday morning.
Police responded swiftly to the scene after being alerted by a neighbour.
Several homeowners have been able to return to their properties, but two households are waiting for structural inquiries to ensure safety.
Footage Appeal
Cleveland Police are appealing for footage and CCTV from anyone who witnessed the incident and from the farming community that may have seen unusual activity in recent days.
The force has issued an appeal for farmers and landowners to report any intruders or suspicious activity on their land over the last week.
Ongoing Investigation
Cleveland Fire Brigade attended the scene, and police are working with partner agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police will collaborate with the local authority to arrange for structural engineers to assess the property.
Due to the scale of the necessary work, police anticipate the scene will remain in place for the coming days as specialist forensic teams conduct examinations, including the tractor involved.
