A man and woman have been charged with the murder of a 2 year old on Teesside

A man and woman have been charged in connection with the death of a two-year-old child in Thornaby.

Officers were called to Hartington Close on Saturday 13th September following a report of concerns for the welfare of a two-year-old child, who was taken to hospital and later passed away.

21-year-old Harrison Simpson, who self-defines as white British, has been charged with rape, murder and causing/allowing the death of a child.

25-year-old Alexandra Walker, who also self-defines as white British, has been charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child.

Both are expected to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 17th September.
