A warm space provider in Teesside say they are hoping to continue being part of the community next year.
The Shack in Stockton say all this year they have put on a variety of activities to help those in need as well as tackling isolation and loneliness.
Jennie Potter is a key volunteer there and said: "We've definitely seen an uptake in the on-site community grocery bringing low cost food to anyone who needs it, and to people joining in and wanting community events and wanting that space to just come and sit, or just to nip in, even when it's not a planned event, to see if any of our team is around to have a coffee. We're definitely seeing a lot more of that.
"One of our key goals is always to make people feel welcome and wanted, to know that everybody has a value that there's a space here for you, so definitely more and more of that would be a dream of ours, to really pull community together and for everybody out there to know that there's a space and a place for them. The door's open for you.
"Just sticking and feeding into that idea that everyone carries a value and a purpose and are loved. One of the ways that we really love doing that here is through a wellbeing course that we offer. It's just been hugely successful in the past, just seeing those things I think would be a really beautiful dream for us for the new year."
