Schools and colleges in Teesside say they're ready for the new school year.

Children are set to return to the classrooms from Monday after having six-weeks off.

Patrick Jordan, Principal of Bede Sixth Form College in Billingham, said: "We can't wait. We're ready and waiting for all of our new students to begin their journey of two years with us.

"Bede is always about destinations. You come here for two years to secure that next step, whether that's university, whether that's apprenticeships, whether that's employment, we'll get you through that journey and we'll get you through that with really good grades.

"For me, Bede's a small college. We know all of the students by name, everyone knows each other here and you get that level of one-to-one support. I think that means a lot to the students. I've been here for 20 years, I was a student here myself and I know what it means to come into a building where all of the staff know you and want you to do well and want to support you."
