'Message of hope' from Stockton North MP
Chris McDonald says there's a positive outlook for 2026
The MP for Stockton North is giving out a message of hope for people in 2026.
Chris McDonald says action is already being taken to restore pride, safety and confidence in Stockton, as he released his five-point plan earlier this year.
Chris, who is also the minister for industry, said: "I know that there's a big issue here with trust and I think over, particularly the last decade, they haven't seen things get better and sometimes it seems things get worse, but look at the improvements that are happening; jobs for young people, changes in our high street in Stockton, taking back control of our steel industry.
"There really is the opportunity for hope and as we go into next year, I would ask people to look at what is being delivered, look at the changes that are being made and don't trust anybody from what they say. Use your own eyes and really make your own mind up based on that. I'm certain we'll all see things getting better in 2026 and 2027."
