Six Further Arrests in Connection with Scholars Rise Incident
A six further arrests have been made in connection with an incident at Scholars Rise in Middlesbrough.
The incident took place on Sunday evening (26th October) around 11:10pm, when a firearm was discharged and an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with leg injuries.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, two men aged 30 and 34 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and two men aged 27 and 30 have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of controlled drugs. All remain in police custody at this time.
Four people have also previously been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following the recovery of suspected drugs at the property; a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old man.
Neighbourhood policing teams continue to carry out a high visibility presence in the area over the coming days.
