Toughest competition this weekend for Teesside strongwoman
Shauna Moar is taking part in the European finals of the official strongman games in York
A strongwoman and gym owner from Teesside says she is doing the heaviest competition she has ever done this weekend.
Shauna Moar, who is from Ingleby Barwick, is taking part in the European finals of the official strongman games at York Barbican.
She said: "I'm feeling really good. I've trained really hard for this competition. My training sessions have been up to four hours, four times a week so it's been really intense but I've really enjoyed it. It helps that I own my own gym so I can train between my coaching session, which is in Middlesbrough.
"This is my first time competing at the OSG Europe's so I'm just going to go there, enjoy myself, see what I can do and try my best. I'm aiming to finish top 10 and I'm hoping to qualify for the world final as well.
"I'll be doing a 210kg axle deadlift, four reps, as many as I can in a minute, I've got an overhead event which is a log press, 90kg overhead, as many as I can in a minute and the yoke frame carry which will be 260kg on my back and I have to walk 40 metres."
