North Yorkshire Police investigates knife incident on bus

It happened on the X27 service on Tuesday morning

Police are appealing for witnesses and information, after a knife-related incident on a bus between Friary Gardens in Richmond, to the train station in Darlington.

It happened on the X27 bus, from around 11.45am on Tuesday 30 September 2025.

A female was approached by a man with a knife.

The man officers want to speak to in connection with this incident is described as white, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, approximate age 40-45, of medium build, with dark brown thinning hair which was styled in a comb over style and facial hair.

He was described as wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black waterproof jacket. There is a possibility that his name is “Michael."

Police want to hear from anyone who was on the bus at the time, or anyone who recognises the description of this man.
