Motorcyclist seriously injured after collision in Hartlepool

A biker has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured after a crash in Hartlepool.

A collision between the motorcycle and a car happened near Hart Village on the A179 just before 3.30 yesterday afternoon.

Cleveland police said:

"The motorcyclist, a man aged in his forties, was taken to James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance. He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

It is believed there were a number of other vehicles in the vicinity when the collision happened."
