Middlesbrough man charged with supplying Class A drugs
An 18-year-old has been detained after carrying cocaine in a Kinder Egg container
An 18-year-old man from Middlesbrough has been charged in connection with supplying Class A drugs.
The man was stopped by officers who were carrying out patrols in the Newport area at around 2.30pm on Friday (21 November).
He was detained after being seen speaking to a suspected vulnerable drug user.
Following his arrest, he was taken into custody, where a search revealed a quantity of crack cocaine and cocaine concealed inside a Kinder Egg in his underwear.
He has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (22 November).
At the same time and location, a 17-year-old boy was stopped and searched by officers. He was found to be in possession of a corrosive substance, identified as ammonia, and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a corrosive substance and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
The 17-year-old was taken to police custody for questioning and has since been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.
The police are continuing their inquiries into these cases and ask anyone with information about drug-related activity in the area to come forward.
